My ideal family

Darius is 12 years old.

Today, he is locked in a kennel in Romania, with no walks, no home, no one of his own.

And yet, he is ready to come to France.

All he is missing is a family.

My story

On 12 December 2024, Darius was locked up in the Piatra Neamț pound, a place where dogs are left to die, known for its mass euthanasia and dreadful conditions of confinement.

When we were able to rescue him, his life was in danger: one eye was so badly injured it had to be removed, he was suffering from anaplasmosis (now treated) and from a Sticker's sarcoma that required surgery. Since then, Darius has been retested and is negative for anaplasmosis, heartworm, leishmaniasis and ehrlichiosis

After months of care, Darius is finally ready to travel.

But without a family, he will stay behind the bars of his kennel.

My character

Darius is a calm, quiet and sensitive dog.

Everything he has been through has made him fearful, but he is not aggressive in any way. He will simply need a patient home that respects his pace and is ready to finally give him the peace he has never known.

My ideal family

We are looking for a "retirement home" family: Darius will be taken in permanently, while the association will cover all his veterinary costs for the rest of his life.

All he needs is:

• a calm environment;
• a garden;
• a home with no other animals;
• patient, caring people.

EVERY DAY COUNTS

At his age, Darius isn't asking for much any more.

Just a garden.

A basket.

A little gentleness.

And someone to show him that life can be beautiful too.
